Christmas feels like a long time away, but for us at Transformation CPR it’s never very far in the future. In fact, it’s a 12-month operation!
We wanted to let everyone know about the work we do in our community at Christmas time. If you are a referrer or someone who would like to be involved, this page is for you.
Every Christmas Transformation CPR runs a Christmas Meal Appeal. Referrers to the Food Bank are invited to send us details about families or individuals in the Camborne, Pool and Redruth areas who would otherwise be unable to provide a Christmas meal and gifts for children.
Over the years, the project has become a well-oiled machine, and with the help of amazing volunteers, we pack and deliver a box of Christmas food along with wrapped and named gifts for children to those families who have been referred – delivery is usually around 23rd December.
For the past two years, we have also taken referrals for single people and couples. We ask that people collect these boxes on a given date.
In 2024 we distributed over 1200 meals in the Camborne/Redruth area and wrapped around 2,000 gifts for children & young people, all of which were with their recipients by Christmas Eve.
We are aware that Christmas can be a worrying and difficult time for many people in our community which is why we try to support as many people as possible.
This project has grown every year, and we know that it has lightened the financial burden of Christmas for those referred.
We will begin to ask for referrals in September. The earlier we can process referrals, the easier our task will be. Please look out for the email and we look forward to another successful project in 2025.
